So here we go then.

If you didn’t know, I’ve been running a small Instagram account for a few months, @gigarchive, but I thought I’d step things up a bit.

Obviously given the name of this blog, there’s going to be a continued focus on my concert reviews. I love live music, so I’ll be sharing videos and photos from different concerts and festivals I attend. These will be much more in depth and focused than the short reviews I’ve been posting on Instagram. Obviously I’ll continue posting on there, but now I don’t need to worry about clogging anyone’s Instagram feed with anything too long.

So what else is this for? I sadly do not have the budget to be attending concerts or festivals anywhere near as regularly as I would want, so in between concerts you can look forward to album reviews, new artist spotlights, throwback reviews and whatever else seems appropriate really!

It should be exciting, and expect a broad variety of genres of music to be discussed too, so watch this space.

‘Good Ass Intro’, was the opening track to ‘Acid Rap’, the 2013 mixtape by Chance the Rapper. The song showcased his rapping prowess, slick style and energetic beats and set the tone for the rest of the project – let’s hope this first blog works the same way.
