Ariana Grande is back, this time collaborating with Social House, the duo who I’d never heard of before today, but produced her most recent hit songs ‘thank u, next‘ and ‘7 rings‘. Social House, is made up of Mikey and Scootie, real names Michael and Charles lol, a pop duo from Pittsburgh, who opened for Ariana on her most recent tour.

This song is nice enough, but it’s not quite got the same magic touch that Ariana’s last few singles have had. The beat is basic, but the soft voice of Ariana works well, floating gently over it.

What I found most lacklustre about the track were the vocals from Social House. They just didn’t really add anything to the track really and I feel that would have liked this song just as much, if not more, if the duo hadn’t had vocals on the track.

Additionally, I understand the song is talking about two people who are in love, but don’t really want to be officially boyfriend and girlfriend, however I found it weird that both members of Social House, take turns singing the part discussing how they are in love with Ariana? Maybe I’m just looking too deep for a meaning.

Overall the track is okay, but they’ve not quite reached the caliber of their previous collaborations, although I know there will definitely be more chart-toppers from Ariana Grande before we know it.
