BROCKHAMPTON – ‘IF YOU PRAY RIGHT’ Song Review

Last week saw another new single from Brockhampton, entitled ‘IF YOU PRAY RIGHT’, as they edge closer to the rumoured August release of their newest studio album ‘GINGER’.

The highlight of this track is easily the unique tuba part that repeats throughout the song’s instrumental: it’s different, catchy and everything you want in a Brockhampton beat. Standout verses on the song come from Dom McClennon’s opening verse and the later verse from Joba that includes lyrics that are as quirky as ever. The ending of the track on streaming services actually differs to the ending on the music video; but both are slower segments which could be teasers of possible other album that feature more pop-style vocals.

IF YOU PRAY RIGHT’ was released with a new music video, which is a must watch. Two summers ago, Brockhampton rose to new heights with the creative music videos for their Saturation trilogy. The music videos from ‘Iridescence‘ were honestly nothing special, but this video takes us back to the golden Saturation era and after this single and video, hopefully the upcoming album brings us back to the Brockhampton that fans know and love.
