Artist Spotlight: Georgia

London based producer and drummer Georgia is destined for big things. Her unique style of electro-dance-pop has gained her a lot of notoriety through the singles she’s released so far and most recently, she has won the ‘One To Watch’ award at the 2019 AIM Awards.

Her latest single, ‘About Work The Dancefloor‘, released earlier this year in March, is a disco-pop club anthem, straight out of the 80s. The synth groove of the chorus is beyond catchy, you’ll find yourself singing along before the end of the song.

Perhaps what has helped Georgia gain particular attention this year is her live performances. I saw a clip online of her show at this year’s Glastonbury, and was surprised to see her alone on stage, behind a drum kit, with a variety of drum pads and synthesisers. Her musical talent was evident, as she proceeded to play each instrument flawlessly, whilst hitting every note of each song in her repertoire.

Whilst the above clip may be at SXSW rather than Glastonbury, it demonstrates her stage presence and ability to hype up and move a crowd.

Georgia has been on the music scene for a few years now, but as she starts to get more and more attention, it’s worth keeping an eye on what music she puts out next, as I think it could be big!
